Non Destructive Testing Liquid Penetrant Testing Magnetic Particle Testing CRACK DETECTION LABORATORY SERVICES AEP EXPANDS INTO NDT AEP (Chippenham) Limited has expanded the services it provides to industry by setting up a Non-Destructive Testing department. With over 50 years specialist experience in Metal Finishing, Anodising and Chemical Processing the company has added Crack/Flaw Detection methods to its lengthy list of approved processes. The new facility employs three fluorescent liquid penetrant testing techniques to examine non-ferrous magnetic component materials for surface breaking defects and utilisies three fluorescent magnetic particle testing techniques to examine ferro-magnetic steel material parts for surface/sub-surface defects. The testing is carried out by certified personnel within the Company Quality System environment specialising in meeting the requirements of the Aerospace and other High Technology industries. Other testing will be carried out on and off site using a red dye penetrant system and portable electro-magnetic yoke equipment. Graduate member of the British Institute of NDT Nick Peters, who has joined AEP, is the West of England’s branch membership manager and is a former member of the Institute of the National Aerospace Group Executive Committee. In his new position within AEP, he is heading up the company’s NDT crack detection department and supervising its running within the existing ISO 9002 Quality System. The addition of this facility provides you, our customer, with the opportunity for single source procurement with associated reductions in cost and time.
